Now.. the electric vehicle licensing law
The General Directorate of Traffic, which is affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Interior, announced the issuance of a new law for licensing electric cars in Egypt within 30 days. One of the responsible sources in the administration confirmed that this law will be concerned with determining the financial fees and taxes that will be applied to this category of cars in Egypt. He explained that the procedures for licensing electric cars will not differ from the procedures for licensing ordinary cars, stressing that the tax value of electric cars will be less than the tax value of cars that run on fuel.
It is worth noting that the electric car was treated with a mathematical formula to find its equivalent in fuel and licensing on this basis.
The licenses were suspended for a period and then the license was temporarily opened with temporary numbers until the issuance of this law and its executive regulations.
